Two Years Old!

We have a two year old!
It is hard to believe that two years
has already gone by!
We had Cohen's two year check up last week...
It was a very interesting check-up.
Cohen knew what was going on from the second
we stepped in the room.
So....he screamed and cried pretty much
the entire time.  FUN!
Cohen has gone from being a chunky monkey
to an average toddler.
Cohen is:
~ 28 lbs. (48th percentile)
~ 35 inches tall (40th percentile)
~ 50 cm head circumference
At the age of two, Cohen likes:
~ reading books
(any Elmo books, Eric Carle books, farm books)
~ singing songs
(ABC's, Twinkle Twinkle Little Star, Happy Birthday, etc..)
~ playing games
(Ring Around the Rosie, Motorboat, etc..)
~ playing catch with the football
~ watching movies
(The Incredibles and Toy Story)
~ watching his favorite cartoons
(Calliou, Mickey Mouse, Elmo)
~ playing with cars, tractors, and semis
~ loves sweets
(suckers, chocolate, cookies, ice cream)
...
Other milestones for Cohen...
~ He talks a lot!
~ He knows his colors
~ Can count from 1-10
~ Knows how to say the ABC's
~ Cohen is in a big boy bed
...
Cohen is a very independent,
strong-willed little boy!
He has a mind of his own :)
But he is a sweet, fun, loving little boy
that we love dearly!

Partyin' Elmo Style

We had a wonderful day celebrating
Cohen's 2nd birthday!
Cohen has had a love for Elmo
since early this summer
so Elmo was how we partied this year!

I created the banner for him...
got a few Elmo balloons...
and of course had Elmo cupcakes and cookies!
The cupcakes and cookies were absolutely fabulous!
A special shout out to Auntie Jesse
for making the cupcakes.
They were so cute!
A picture of the food table and decorations!
Cohen and his pal Carter!
Sweet little Madi, Boen, and Cohen
 Buddies...Parker and Cohen
Cohen was very careful about opening his presents.
He got lots of great gifts!
He wanted to open every package and play with them.
In fact, by the time he got to the last few presents
(the ones from Eric and me)
he was more interested in playing with what
he already had.
So...he never opened the presents from Eric and me.
I guess we can regift them for Christmas :)
A tractor lego set from the Thompson's.
A cool light saber from big cuz' Nicholas.
Some of his gifts from everyone!
He made a haul!
Cohen isn't in to taking pictures these days.
We did capture one good family picture.
 And then we captured this...
a more normal picture with Cohen these days!
On his birthday we had a quiet night of fun!
We had macaroni and cheese for supper.
And then a cupcake with singing and candles.
After blowing out the candles he got a little embarassed :)
Happy 2nd birthday to this sweet,
fun-loving little boy!
We love you to pieces!!

Cohen's Big Boy Bed!

Last weekend Cohen told us it was time
for a big boy bed!
After three nights of him crawling out of his crib
and refusing to sleep in it,
we decided it was time to take the crib down
and get out the big boy bed!
A little sad for this mama
but lots of smiles for this little guy.
He has done extremely well so far.
The first night he slept through the entire night
without getting up.
The last two nights he has got up and come into
our room because he couldn't find his nuk
but we put him right back in and he falls asleep.
He likes us to lay by him until he falls asleep...
hopefully we can get him adjusted quickly
so we don't have to do that for long.

 So happy with his bed!

Doing tricks on his new bed!
Jumping...
 Climbing...
 and somersaulting over the top!
 He loves it!
Here is a pic of the room without the monkey
on the bed!
We are planning to paint the bed white
to match his room.
Maybe that will be a job for the weekend!

Can you see a pattern?!

Yes...the pattern you are seeing is that
Cohen would prefer to be in just a diaper
these days!
As I like to say..."Cohen is almost two."
He is a strong willed, almost two, toddler boy!
He likes it his way or no way right now.
So being a diaper is how we roll.
When Cohen is forced to put clothes on,
he will ONLY wear short sleeve shirts.
He refuses to wear long sleeves whether
it is a shirt, pajamas, or a sweatshirt.
In fact the only time he will wear a zip up
shirt/sweatshirt is if he is going outside.
The second we are inside he WANTS if off!!!
So I have all of these new cute long sleeve shirts
collecting dust and his too small, worn out t-shirts
that are being worn daily!
Oh yes...did I mention that he likes to change his
shirts about 5-10 times a day?!?!
So my latest pictures involve one naked little guy!
Here he is attempting to take his shirt off.
Just hanging out in his diaper.
Playing with no shirt on.
Even when he is playing with his buddies
he must have his shirt off.
 Carter completely clothed...
Cohen completely not clothed!
And having so much fun!
He will put up quite the fight if he
has to put on clothes.
This too shall pass (hopefully quickly!)

Halloween....not so much!

Cohen was not up for a
Halloween costume this year.
We had the most adorable lion costume
for him to wear but he wanted
nothing to do with it.
We tried for about 2 weeks to put it on him
and get him use to it.
Every time we tried he kicked, screamed, and cried!
This is about as close as we got to a costume!
A little mummy shirt...
We went over to Eric's dad's to meet up
with the family and the cute trick-or-treaters.
We thought Cohen might put on his costume
if he saw everyone else dressed up
but we had no luck.
At this point, he wouldn't even wear his mummy shirt.
So he is wearing his "Thing 3" shirt.
This was the best we could do for a group picture.
Here is the adorable "Snow White."
Cohen and Parker having fun jumping while
Tina and I attempt to get a good picture of them.
Love this picture of Parker and me...
what a cute little chicken!
I will settle for a cute picture
of my little "thing" without his costume :)
Last weekend we attempted to dress
the kiddos up in their costumes
for my parents to see.
As you can see Cohen isn't too pleased.
Unbelieveably he did wear the costume
for about a total of 3 minutes.
Isn't the costume cute?!?
Too bad he wouldn't wear it!
Love this picture of the cute dinosaur and lion!
One quick picture and he was done!
Ripping off the costume!
 And the cutest little elephant!
Here is my little lion...
doesn't he look like he is having fun?!?
HA!

There's always next year!
It was still a great Halloween!
